The municipality has a total area of 1,059 km². The Local Municipality comprises Barrington, Bracken Hill, Buffelsbaai, Concordia, Gouna, Karatara, Knysna, Kraaibos, Kruisvallei,Mielierug, Noetzie, Sedgefield and Sonskyn.
